Unlock the potential for lasting impact through monthly giving to KODA Camp Midwest. Why are monthly donations so important? In a world where every penny counts and the need for social change is ever-present, the role of KODA Camp Midwest in shaping the lives of young KODAs cannot be overstated. KODA Camp Midwest works to help KODAs find their belonging, grow in their self confidence, and experience KODA Love. Much of what KODA Camp Midwest does relies on donations to fund the mission. There's a particular strength in committing to monthly giving that goes beyond mere financial support. Let's delve into why monthly giving to KODA Camp Midwest is so important and how it can make a substantial difference.
Let’s understand where KODA Camp Midwest is coming from. I’m Maris and I am the Business Manager at KODA Camp Midwest. I also work full time as the Director of Donor and Alumni Engagement at UW Parkside. Before Parkside, I worked full time as a capital campaign fundraiser in a $40 million dollar capital campaign. I also have my Masters in Nonprofit Administration from Marquette University and did two years of AmeriCorps. You could say I like to help fundraise and make a difference in the communities I belong to.
KODA Camp Midwest matters to me. It’s something that I grew up participating in since I was 11 years old and watched my mom start from the ground up. It’s amazing to see how much KODA Camp Midwest has grown since I started 18 years ago. So much of that has to do with Karen and the amazing supporters of KODA Camp. All of the parents and KODAs, and CODA counselors that make KODA Camp Midwest such a special place to be. As a full time fundraiser, I’ve seen first hand the benefits that monthly giving does to a nonprofit.
KODA Camp Midwest does not only has expenses during camp, but year round. Things like staff salaries, insurance costs, and fees don't stop because camp is done for the summer! Giving year around helps immensely with cash flow, budgeting and having a reliable support of income.
