Requirements
Over 18 years of age
Good character and leadership qualities.
Respected and in good standing in the community.
Familiar with deaf/hard of hearing culture.
Prior experience working with youths.
Willing to live and work within a community of caring individuals.
NO misdemeanors or felony convictions involving children or adults.
Must be able to provide your own transportation to and from camp.
CPR and First Aid certification is a necessity and required.
Have a parent who is deaf or hard of hearing.
Work with children outdoors and indoors
Relate to one’s peer group
Accept guidance and supervision
Teach and assist in activities
Maintain the confidentiality of all campers/staffs
Have good character, integrity, and adaptability
Have enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
Learn the likes/dislikes of each camper

Develop opportunities for interaction among campers and staff
Provide opportunities so that each camper has a successful experience at camp
Help each camper have a fun & safe experience while at camp
Supervise all assigned aspects of the campers’ day
Help with clean-up, meal times, rest hour, day and evening activities, getting ready for bed, and after-hour duty as assigned
Instruct campers in emergency procedures such as tornado/storm drills
Make suggestions for the following season
Perform other duties as assigned

Must have at least a summer of camp staff experience
Responsibilities: (Subject to change)
Assist in first week training.
Be considerate in different leadership types and focus on the strengths of staff for leading.
Demonstrate good leading styles and activities for staff.
Come up with ideas, and facilitate brainstorm process when creating new ideas.
Being the contact person for questions relating activities for campers such as; set up, location, age appropriate, size, general ‘how to’ for games played.
Ensure that activities are being scheduled in each KODA Camp category.
Manage ‘welcome’ activities such as; icebreakers, demonstrating camp rules, introductions, basic layout of camp, help with new campers, etc.
Throughout camp is aware of activities that are successful, which are not and how to modify, does not repeat too many activities.
Makes sure supplies lists are created for activities and follows up with who is leading what.
Can lead own activities.
Is the “go to” in leading and camper related activities.
Works with discipline of campers.
Assist 16 year old planning with the CIT leader(s).
Create accessible daily log for counselors.
Lead nightly staff meetings.
Meet with executive director daily.
Must have at least a summer of camp staff experience
This person will be responsible to make sure the CITs understand the procedures and how each day activities are scheduled.
Will coordinate the schedule for CITs to pair with the regular staff.
will make sure each CIT gets mentoring for the first two weeks, then the next three weeks coordinate their ability to take the lead.
Will have daily meetings, make notes of any issues and bring them to all staff’s attentions to address and solve before the next day.
Will assign one or two CITs to attend staff meeting nightly.
Will coordinate the CITs schedule to be on call in the cabins at nights.
Work with staff coordinator for any issues
Will mentor CITs throughout the camp and create a program for CITs to become staff leaders during the youth and kid sessions.
Make sure CITs received information what responsibilities are expected of staffs.
Coordinate KODAthalon with CITs and work with four programs (Outdoors, KODAstudies, Arts & Crafts and Teambuilding).
Provide extra training sessions to CITs during the teens session.
This person will be responsible to make sure the CITs understand the procedures and how each day activities are scheduled.
KODA Camp Midwest photographer, videographer, and media specialist is responsible for capturing the memories and experiences of campers and staff during the summer camp season. You’ll work closely with the camp director and business manager to create visually appealing and cohesive photo and video content for use in camp promotional materials.
Take high-quality photographs and/or videos of campers, staff, and camp activities
Edit and organize photos and videos for easy access and use by the camp
Work with the camp director and marketing team to create promotional materials featuring camp photos and videos
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
Communicate with the director and business manager as needed.
Strong storytelling, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to use DSLR or mirrorless camera
Ability to use Canva and video editing software
Ability to multitask on editing, organizing, and posting on social media
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Self-motivated and self-directed
Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
High school degree or equivalent
Able to work early mornings, all days, nights, and weekends
Able to bend, move, and lift up to 25 pounds or more
Must have a car

The cook will prepare meals and may create recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the camp menu with flexibility, and following food health and safety procedures. Duties involved cooking, cleaning, assisting other cooks and staff and delivering food. Work may include operating a grill, oven, or fryer. This job is a five week duration to feed kids and adults (80+) in two week segments and a week (40+) while working at the MacKenzie Center, Poynette. The dates are June 25 to July 28 with three days off plus two flexible. This is a salary job and extra credit for college may be earned.
Setting up, cleaning, and organizing work stations
Preparing ingredients for each shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
Preparing oven, utensils, and grill for food as needed
Cooking order according to food health and safety standards
Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes
Handling multiple food dishes at one time
Ensuring food preparation ready by meal time
Storing all food properly
Sanitizing and cleaning work stations and utensils
Reordering stock and food supplies
Team work with other cooks and team members
Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed
Communicate with the director as needed.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Keeps records and accounts of food purchases
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
Self-motivated and self-directed
Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
High school degree or equivalent
Previous experience as a busboy, washer, waiter, cook, or relevant work experience
Able to work early mornings, all days, nights, and weekends
