Hello everyone! I’m a previous KODA camper and counselor living in Frederick, MD. I currently work as an ASL interpreter in the DC/Baltimore area and have a bachelors degree in Deaf Studies and Political Science from Towson University. Aside from my professional life, in my free time I enjoy things like sports, video games, and just being adventurous! I am excited to bring a new perspective to the board and help children in my fellow community find their identity between the Deaf and Hearing ‘worlds!’
I'm from Ontario, New York. I graduated from mainstreaming school in 1984 and graduated NTID in 1987. I have worked for private eye doctor C&R vision since 2017. I have 3 children, my oldest son is interpreter, my second son is currently attend University of Buffalo and will transfer to University of Rochester this fall to become a doctor, and my daughter who is 9th grade and been to Koda camp since she was 9 (been to CM7 once and the rest of years to Koda Midwest). I enjoy quilting blankets and enjoy my time with my puppy Fable. I've been married for 26 years now. My envision for kids at camp to grow their true identity KODA at camp to have an amazing experience and feel welcomed.
Eryn Kvernevig
Eryn Kvernevig was born & raised in South Dakota. She was diagnosed deaf at age 5. Attended mainstream until 8th grade then switched to South Dakota School for the Deaf for high school and graduated with the final class of 2005. Eryn currently works for a blood donation center.
She heard about KODA Midwest from the adults of her life and looked forward to sending her own kids to the camp. The opportunity became a reality in 2021.
