Day of KODA Camp and Casino Night Fundraiser
For Summer 2024, the Teens Session will be totally cash free while the Youth and Kids Session will remain as normal. Starting September 1, 2024 going into Summer 2025 all sessions will be totally cash free for snacks, field trips, and extra camper purchased items.
Every teen camper will now be required to bring a pre-loaded card , credit card, or debit card to camp for field trip purchases. Counselors will hold onto KODA Camper cards until it is time for the field trips. KODA Camp Midwest recommends $50 for two field trips.
While KODA Camp Midwest always provides a free snack each day, there is an additional option to purchase snacks. Instead of bringing cash, parents will be required to purchase a snack package via Zeffy for their camper.
Purchased snacks are always limited to only 1 soda and 1 candy/chocolate per day.
Currently, all snack and field trip money will remain the same.
If the program for Teens 2024 goes well, it possible that this will be implemented for Youth 2024.
Summer 2025 all sessions will go cashless. More information to come.

By transitioning to only accepting electronic payments, KODA Camp Midwest will provide a faster, safer, and more guest friendly experience. Staff will spend less time handling cash and more time serving campers, reducing our reliance on this less secure method of payment. After August 31, 2024 KODA Camp Midwest accounts for PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App will be discontinued. Zeffy or check will be the only options moving forward from September 1, 2024.
If you do not use credit or debit cards, you can still make purchases for registration, snack packages, and other items via your bank account. Zeffy has the option to use ACH payments to make your purchase.
For your camper, if you bring cash to the registration table, it will be used to purchase a pre-loaded visa card where the money will be located.
KODA Camp Midwest recommends to pre-load $50. This will cover two field trips for the teens and youth sessions.
In their simplest form, cashless payments simply mean having no cash transactions. We offer a range of ways to achieve this including Zeffy online payments and Zeffy tap to pay.
Parents will be sent a snack package form where they can choose how much to spend. By providing a Zeffy form, parents and campers can accurately plan for snacks and appropriately budget. Any money leftover from snacks will be refunded to the purchasing card.
With Zeffy, KODA Camp Midwest's credit card processor, there are no fees for the customer or KODA Camp Midwest. When checking out, make sure to put 0% as the "donation" to Zeffy.

Depending on the type of card you give your child, you can either load more money onto the card or check the balance. Providing $50 for the two field trips the campers go on should be plenty to buy snacks or souveniers. (KODA Camp Midwest provides lunch for all campers during field trips).
Cashless is something that is being rolled out in stages and through this process we are gathering questions and having discussions with parents. The discussion of a cashless system has been taking place since last year among KODA Camp Midwest. KODA Camp Midwest believes that the new cash free camp has many benefits and will greatly improve the management of finances. We appreciate all the questions that have come up and we are committed to answering these.
