You are responsible to find a ticket to fly from your location to Milwaukee, WI or Madison, WI.
Times:
On the first Sunday of camp starting, fly in the morning.
On the last Friday of camp ending, fly out in the afternoon, preferably after 1 pm.
Send the flight itinerary to the Executive Director.
Send an updated image of your child to the Executive Director.
Ensure a name of person picking up your child is on the airline ticket (Executive Director will confirm with you the names as the date gets closer).
When you send your child to the airport, make sure the child have enough money to pay for the luggage or at least have a preloaded card or similar card to pay for luggage fee and meals if needed. If you plan to send cash, it needs to be separate from the snack money and is in its own envelope.
Make sure your child understands that there should be NO liquid (shampoo, etc) in their backpack.
On Thursday of the last week of camp, all camper items are packed. The camper needs shampoo etc. for Friday and many times forget to put the liquid containers back into their luggage. If your child wants to have their own shampoo, etc on the last day of the camp, please bring several 3 oz containers for the camper to pack their shampoo, etc. to carry in their backpack.
Once you send the flight information to the Executive Director, the Executive Director will coordinate pick up times for all campers coming to Milwaukee or Madison airports in those times.
The Executive Director will communicate with you the names of the people picking your child up at the airport as well as photos to help your child identify at pick up.
Pick Up on Sunday
The director will assign two people to stay at the airport and pick up all the kids that will fly in on Sunday.
An adult will arrive to the airport at a certain time which means some kids will have to wait for other kids to arrive. A counselor or two, depending on how many kids will fly, will bring all the kids back to the camp in the afternoon.
Drop off on Friday
For the flight out on Friday, an adult or two will take the kids back to the airport and drop them off. The two assigned adults will be at the airport and take care of the kids to make sure they have tickets as well as making sure their luggage is dropped off.
If you have any questions about flight information or procedure, please contact the Executive Director, Karen Voss at karen@kodamidwest.org
